This first composition of “Ivory Suite” is called “Griot”. Griot is an african world that indicates a specific type of musician and a specific role in the society of west Africa. They keep the traditions alive.
I want to dedicate it to a travelling musician, I met some years ago.
His name is Kalifa Diarra and he is from Burkina Faso. He is an excellent singer and plays beautifully ballafon and ngoni, two traditional instruments made by himself. I had the privilege to learn from him some original compositions we played during concerts.
